Brief Background about the Position

traineeship of 6 months within the Political, Press and Information Section of the EU Delegation to Australia, starting in May  2024.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Section’s research and reporting to the Headquarters on Australia’s domestic and foreign policy.
  • Assist in the organisation of the Delegation’s public diplomacy activities, support social media communication, and draft speeches for the Head of Delegation.
  • Support the Delegation in the preparation of visits, missions and meetings as well as follow-up actions e.g. preparation of briefing materials for senior officials, drafting minutes, etc.
  • Attend and report on meetings, seminars, conferences and other events in Australia.
  • Support the daily work of the Section.

Qualifications or special requirements:

  • English language proficiency (mandatory)
  • Knowledge of a second language (EU or regional) is an advantage.
  • University degree in international relations, political science, diplomacy, or similar field.
